ABOUT YOUR GUIDE

Lee Mott: LBIPP, LMPA, CrGWP, LBPPA
Lee became fascinated by the natural world and developed an interest in the visual arts at a
very young age. He started out sketching and painting in nature, and used photography as
an aid  to help him in the field. When he reached his teens, photography won out to become
Lee’s major passion in life.

Lee has spent many years studying animal behavior, natural habitats and field locations.
This gave him a firm grounding in nature photography.
He became a professional photographer in 1989. In 1990 he qualified with The British Institute for Professional Photography, in 1994 with The Master Photographers Association and in 1997 he became a craftsman with The Guild of Photographers.

Lee has won the Hargreaves Trentham Trophy for the Best Overall Image, and the Best Digital Image in the East Midlands British Institute of Professional Photography print competition.

Many of Lee’s images grace the pages of photographic magazines, but of late he has
specialised in producing limited edition fine art prints for sale in galleries across the UK.

Lee first set up his photography holidays and courses in 2000 after being approached by
several photographers wanting to explore the world of nature photography. He started
out running one day sessions, soon extending these into week long holidays and courses.

The courses were run at various top nature locations around the UK, and this brought Lee to his favourite location of all – Shetland. He has now taken up residence in what he considers “without a doubt the best location for nature photography in the UK”.

Lee provides professional guidance in a relaxed and down to earth fashion. He tailors his
Holidays and courses to the ability of those attending, be they beginner or advanced.
Having worked hard to attain his skills, Lee can empathise with any photographer,
no matter what their ability.
